Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Georgia Grace's Place is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide daily care, supervision, and support for traumatized youth. You will implement individualized service plans and guide clients in developing independent living skills as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, 2+ years in mental health/group home settings, strong communication and computer skills, a valid driver's license, and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s or progress toward degree preferred.
• Two years+ experience in mental health, group home, or related setting with youth/adolescents.
• Must be 21+; strong communication and multitasking abilities; tech savvy.
• Valid driver’s license; drug screen and background check required.
• On-call, weekend availability and some holidays; ability to work every other weekend.

• Provide daily care, supervision, and implementation of client service plans.
• Document shift progress related to individualized service plan goals.

Starting pay: $20/hr, increases with experience!

Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are responsible for the daily care and supervision, support, and implementation of the client individualized service plans, development plans, transitional living plans, and programs. Staff will document the progress of clients on the shift as related to the individualized service plan goals. Staff will also assist with teaching and guiding the clients in the development of independent, social, and transitional living skills as designated in the service plans and program guidelines.

We are excited to announce we have broken ground on a brand new campus! Due to Devereux Georgia's history of success in treating victims since 2009, the state has chosen to use Devereux for their newly approved treatment program. The 24-bed program is a Child Caring Institution (Group Home) for traumatized females between the ages of 12 and 17.

Our new Child Caring Institution campus is located near the Gwinnett County Police Headquarters on Hi Hope Road.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: High School Diploma required. Bachelors degree or progression toward a degree in Mental Health or Social Services preferred

EXPERIENCE: Two years or more experience in a mental health, group home and/or other room, board and watchful oversight setting working with youth and adolescents required without a degree in a social service field

Other qualifications:

• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; relationship management and multi-tasking skills are required.
• Strong technical skills and ability to utilize in-house computer applications.
• Valid Driver's License required; Satisfactory Drug Screen and Background Check results.
• On-call, weekend availability and some holidays required.
• You must be able to work every other weekend, as required.
