Job summary

Barrington James is seeking a Software Engineer for a Sunnyvale-based medical device startup. You will support application software and manufacturing testing systems for ultrasound hardware, with cross-functional collaboration across hardware, systems, and software teams.

The role offers growth toward ownership of testing systems as the company scales. Ideal candidates have a BS or MS in a related field, 3+ years (or 2+ years with a Master) of relevant experience, and strong Python, Qt/PyQt, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's + 3 years OR Master's + 2 years in a relevant field.
• Experience in the medical device industry.
• Experience with Qt/PyQt.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP).
• Experience with Git version control and CI.
• Experience working with hardware-integrated or lab-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain application-level software for medical device functionality.
• Design and build manufacturing test software for validation.
• Integrate software with lab equipment and hardware systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate requirements into solutions.
• Contribute to software architecture and system design decisions.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software interaction issues and improve test automation.
