Job summary

Field Medical is seeking a hands-on Software Development Engineer to design, develop, test, and validate software for a Class III medical device platform. You'll work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced MedTech environment, delivering software from conception through validation using Qt, C++, and Python on Linux.

The role requires 5+ years of experience in regulated settings, strong C++/Qt skills, and willingness to participate in animal studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience developing Class III medical devices in heavily regulated environments.
• Understanding of FDA regulatory requirements and ISO 13485 standards.
• Proficiency in C++ and Qt framework.
• Strong Linux experience.
• Python scripting for automation and testing.
• Experience with Helix test management system.
• Willingness to participate in animal studies for preclinical device validation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications using Qt, C++, and Linux environments.
• Develop Python scripts for automation, testing, and system integration.
• Collaborate with hardware, regulatory, and clinical teams to deliver integrated solutions with strong communication.
• Participate in software architecture decisions and conduct peer code reviews.
• Own software deliverables from conception through validation and maintain progress updates.
