Job summary

Intelas, a Compass Healthcare company, seeks a Medical Device Integration Coordinator in Chicago, IL to oversee deployment, connectivity, maintenance, and cybersecurity of medical devices and clinical systems.

You will work with HTM, Information Management, Cybersecurity, clinicians, and vendors to ensure secure, reliable data exchange with Epic and hospital systems; onsite role with after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of experience supporting medical devices, clinical systems, or healthcare IT.
  • Knowledge of networking, Windows systems, medical-device connectivity, and cybersecurity.
  • Experience troubleshooting servers, interfaces, clinical applications, or device connectivity.
  • Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with clinical teams, IT, Cybersecurity, HTM, and vendors.
  • Ability to participate in after-hours support and escalation.

Responsibilities

  • Support medical-device platforms and applications, including vendor systems.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, HL7 interfaces, and Epic integration.
  • Coordinate new medical-device implementations: onboarding, firewall rules, certificates, testing, go-live.
  • Support medical-device servers, workstations, middleware, interfaces, and databases.
  • Assist with cybersecurity activities: patching, risk documentation, and vendor access.
  • Lead or participate in troubleshooting clinical-technology incidents affecting patient care.
  • Support system upgrades, device replacements, OS migrations, disaster-recovery testing.
  • Maintain system documentation, diagrams, inventories, and implementation plans.

The Medical Device Integration Coordinator will support the implementation, connectivity, maintenance, and cybersecurity of medical devices and clinical technology systems across the organization. This position will work closely with HTM, Information Management, Cybersecurity, clinical departments, and external vendors to ensure medical devices remain securely connected and reliably exchange information with Epic and other hospital systems.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting medical-device platforms and applications, including Philips PIC iX and IntelliBridge Enterprise, GE MUSE, Provation MD, Sickbay, Connexall, Rauland, Laborie, Asimily, BD Alaris, and other vendor-hosted clinical systems.
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity, wireless authentication, device-to-server communication, HL7 interfaces, worklists, results delivery, and Epic integration.
  • Coordinating new medical-device implementations, including network onboarding, server and application requirements, firewall rules, service accounts, certificates, testing, validation, and go-live support.
  • Supporting medical-device servers, workstations, middleware, interfaces, databases, and vendor remote-access solutions in collaboration with hospital infrastructure teams.
  • Assisting with medical-device cybersecurity activities, including vulnerability remediation, patch coordination, CyberArk account management, vendor access, system hardening, and risk documentation.
  • Leading or participating in troubleshooting efforts for clinical technology incidents affecting patient care.
  • Supporting system upgrades, device replacements, operating-system migrations, planned maintenance, disaster-recovery testing, and technology lifecycle initiatives.
  • Maintaining system documentation, network diagrams, technical inventories, support procedures, implementation plans, and project updates.
  • Participating in after-hours support and escalation for critical medical-device and clinical-system issues as needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • Three to five years of experience supporting medical devices, clinical systems, or healthcare IT.
  • Knowledge of networking, Windows systems, medical-device connectivity, and cybersecurity.
  • Experience troubleshooting servers, interfaces, clinical applications, or device connectivity.
  • Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with clinical teams, IT, Cybersecurity, HTM, and vendors.
  • Ability to participate in after-hours support and escalation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Healthcare Technology Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with Epic, HL7, medical-device integration, or interoperability.
  • Experience supporting one or more of the listed medical-device or clinical systems.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, CyberArk, vulnerability management, and vendor remote access.
  • Healthcare technology, IT, networking, cybersecurity, or project-management certification.
