Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an Automation Engineer to ensure automated processes meet validation strategies and quality procedures for a medical device line. You will help develop vision and programming standards and review source code for automated equipment.

You will analyze equipment performance, guide suppliers on new builds, and create plans to boost yield on inspections while programming Allen Bradley PLCs and working with Cognex Vision systems and Fanuc robots.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in Automation and Controls Manufacturing.
Engineering degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Ability to program and troubleshoot automated equipment.
Validation experience (IQ, OQ, PQ) a plus; FDA 21 CFR 820/GMP familiarity is advantageous.
Write protocols, work instructions, and engineering studies.

Responsibilities

Ensure automated processes align with validation strategies and quality procedures for a medical device line.
Assist in developing vision and programming standards; perform source code reviews for automated equipment.
Provide guidance to suppliers on new equipment builds.
Analyze production equipment performance and develop plans to increase yield from inspections.
Program Allen Bradley PLCs and work with Cognex Vision systems and Fanuc Robots.
