Job summary

Abbott in Avon, IN is seeking an Operator I in the CRM Cardiac Rhythm Management division to perform routine assembly operations and processes. This role emphasizes accurate documentation, safety, and contributing to quality and profitability in a regulated manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates will read and follow procedures, use electronic data capture systems, handle small components, and work with supervision to meet cell goals while collaborating with management on improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Understanding and ability to utilize electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.
• Ability to prioritize work based on sequencing and timing of jobs.
• Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts.
• Ability to make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Ensure relevant job documentation for cell operations and functions is accurate and up to date.
• Perform troubleshooting, active listening, conflict resolution and teamwork.
• Communicate ideas, problems and solutions to all levels of manufacturing management in written and oral form.
• Represent the company positively during tours, demonstrating techniques and sharing information.
• Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with internal and external customers.
• Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate safety devices when performing all operations.
• Participate in continuous improvement/quality initiatives to enhance production processes, quality and profitability metrics.
• Perform routine/preventative maintenance on applicable equipment to maximize efficiency and reduce accidents.
• Maintain accurate records for traveler and quality documents, ensuring traceability and addressing quality issues.
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager on goals and cell performance metrics.
• Support divisional initiatives related to Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and other regulatory requirements.
