Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease seeks a Senior Manager for Medical Data Strategy & Management to enable AI-ready data for medical affairs programs. You will lead data strategy, governance, and the end-to-end lifecycle of data products, collaborating across IT and data offices to support evidence generation and patient-centric insights.

Requirements include 5–7 years in data strategy/management within life sciences, a life sciences-related bachelor’s, and familiarity with AI/GenAI principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life science, data science, engineering, or other relevant field.
• 5-7 years in data strategy, data management, data governance, or data product roles in life sciences.
• Experience leveraging data for AI/ML/GenAI use cases.
• Experience contributing to enterprise or functional data strategies.
• Familiarity with data governance (MDM, data quality, metadata).
• Knowledge of data mesh, data-as-a-product, AI-ready data principles, and responsible AI frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute data strategy for Global Medical Affairs with AI/GenAI readiness as a design principle.
• Operationalize the data governance framework for medical affairs programs, including data ownership, stewardship, quality, metadata and privacy.
• Direct data flow and management for assigned programs.
• Support end-to-end lifecycle of medical affairs data products, ensuring they are AI-ready and consumable by AI/ML/GenAI use cases.
• Collaborate with IT, Alexion Data Office, and other AZ units to accelerate AI-enabled use cases.
• Represent Global Medical Affairs in the Alexion Data Office and advocate for medical affairs priorities.
• Stay current with real-world evidence, digital health data, AI trends and regulatory expectations.
