Job summary

Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease is seeking a Senior Manager, Medical Data Strategy & Management to enable AI-ready data for medical affairs programs. You will shape data products and governance and drive data lifecycle management in a collaborative, matrixed environment.

The role focuses on data strategy, governance, and end-to-end data product delivery, with cross-functional partnerships across IT, Data Office, and medical affairs units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life science, data science, engineering, or related field.
• 5–7 years in data strategy, management, governance, or data product roles in life sciences; AI/GenAI experience.
• Experience shaping enterprise data strategies and managing data flow, services or products.
• Familiar with data governance: MDM, metadata, quality; data mesh and AI-ready principles.
• Knowledge of global data privacy and evolving AI regulations; strong collaboration in matrixed environments.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to data strategy for Global Medical Affairs with AI readiness as a design principle.
• Operationalize data governance for medical affairs programs and ensure data quality and privacy.
• Direct data flow, management, and end-to-end lifecycle of medical data products.
• Collaborate with IT, Data Office, and Medical Affairs across AstraZeneca units to advance AI use cases.
• Represent Global Medical Affairs in the Alexion Data Office and advocate for data priorities.
• Stay current on real-world data trends and pilots to improve data use in medical affairs.
