Job summary

Responsibilities

• Adheres to schedule for pickup and delivery of patient diagnostic results/medications to nursing units. Responds to stat deliveries promptly.
• Delivers and picks up messages packages medical records interoffice mail etc. to offices and departments.
• Maintains a supply of wheelchairs and stretchers at designated areas. Reports malfunctioning or safety hazards of transport equipment.
• Observes patient's general condition when patient in their care and notifies nursing personnel of any difficulties.
• Transports patients to and from clinical ancillary and support department areas as directed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Puts drug orders away prior to end of shift and maintains a clean work area.
• Returns inventory to proper locations after completing work tasks and discards debris properly.
