Qualifications

  • Proven experience in medical coding across professional and facility settings.
  • Strong knowledge of NCCI and payer-specific edits.
  • Solid understanding of coding guidelines, compliance and audits.
  • Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve coding edits to ensure timely, accurate completion.
  • Communicate trends to coders and leadership.
  • Monitor account holds and ensure follow-up and resolution.
  • Assign workloads and distribute accounts to staff based on volume.
  • Train and onboard new coders with guidance on workflows and quality.
  • Approve timesheets and reconcile production monitoring.
  • Code as needed and maintain open communication with leadership.
