Job summary

Onslow Memorial Hospital is seeking a Coding Analyst to ensure accurate and timely coding of diagnoses and procedures. You will abstract records from paper and electronic sources and apply ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS, and CPT guidelines within compliance standards.

Qualified candidates hold a high school diploma with coding credential coursework and AHIMA or AAPC certification or eligibility within six months. Experience is preferred; training is available for new graduates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college classes for coding credential required.
• AHIMA or AAPC credential or eligible to receive certification within 6 months of hire.
• Credentials include CCA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-P.

Responsibilities

• Code diagnoses and procedures accurately using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT.
• Abstract records from paper and electronic sources.
• Ensure compliance standards and severity of illness documentation.
• Analyze data collected for applicable diagnoses and procedures.
