Formación

• Must have AHIMA or AAPC certification within hire (CCS/CCS-P/RHIT/RHIA/CCA or equivalent)
• Proficiency applying coding guidelines and regulations
• Experience translating clinical data into accurate codes

Responsabilidades

• Review medical records to identify principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures for coding.
• Translate diagnostic and procedural phrases into codes for claims submission.
• Determine code sequencing to maximize appropriate reimbursement.
• Assign DRGs and encoder-determined codes per guidelines.
• Query physicians to clarify documentation when needed.
