Qualifications

• CPC certification by AAPC or AHIMA required.
• Two years medical coding experience preferred.
• Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Maintain coding certifications and attend in-service training as required.
• Strong data entry skills and proficiency with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts to verify accuracy and proper coding.
• Review records to identify conditions for validation and coding.
• Ongoing analysis of medical charts for coding compliance.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and guidelines.
• Meet daily coding production and attend departmental meetings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager.
