Job summary

ClareMedica seeks an accurate, detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our team. Review medical records and document coding for risk adjustment models and proper coding of office procedures.

The ideal candidate holds a CPC with 2+ years of medical coding experience, strong medical terminology knowledge, EMR and MS Office proficiency, and excellent communication and time-management skills. This full-time role is based in Florida.

Qualifications

  • CPC - Certified Professional Coder; by AAPC or AHIMA.
  • Two (2) years of medical coding experience, preferably.
  • Maintain coding certification and attend in-service training as required.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Strong computer skills in data entry, coding, and knowledge of EMR software; MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient charts to verify accuracy, completeness, specificity, and appropriate coding.
  • Review medical records to identify conditions for provider validation.
  • Analyze medical charts for coding compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable coding laws and guidelines.
  • Cooperate with team to achieve department objectives and maintain relations.
  • Meet daily coding production.
  • Attend departmental meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Manager.
