Job summary

WellSky is seeking a Medical Coder - Home Health to provide accurate ICD-10-CM coding and OASIS-informed reviews to support compliant billing for client agencies.

Responsibilities include assigning codes supported by documentation, reviewing OASIS, identifying primary and secondary diagnoses/procedures, and ensuring adherence to internal policies and applicable regulations. Remote work and benefits included.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma required.
• 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
• Coding certification (HCS-D or BCHH-C) required.

Job description

The Medical Coder - Home Health is responsible for providing medical coding support to assigned agencies. The scope of this job includes accurate assignment of billing codes that are supported by documentation and compliant with all OASIS standards and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Make accurate ICD-10-CM code assignments.
• Review OASIS (Outcome and Assessment Information Set) and assign accurate codes supported by the documentation.
• Identify viable primary diagnosis and procedures as well as pertinent secondary diagnosis and procedures.
• Adhere to coding compliance regulations and internal policies to ensure accurate billing for our client agencies.
• Review, interpret, and recommend a plan of care corrections as needed.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Required qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma
• 1-2 of Relevant Work Experience
• Coding Certified (HCS-D or BCHH-C)

Preferred qualifications

• OASIS experience
• Hospice experience

Job Expectations

• Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed
• Must work in accordance with applicable security policies and procedures to safeguard company and client information
• Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
