Certifications like CPC or CCS are highly regarded, and proficiency with Epic software is critical for managing charge submissions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a medical coder in a hospital or physician's office.
• 2+ years of experience as a specialty coder in relevant fields.
• Expert knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.

Responsibilities

Job Title : Senior Specialty Physician Coder - Interventional

Job Location : Remote. Must be located in California.

Job Duration : 12 months with possible conversion

Shift : 40hrs / week

Responsibilities :

• Review and accurately code office, hospital, and surgical procedures for reimbursement, ensuring compliance for all inpatient and outpatient services and diagnostic tests.
• Utilize Epic software for charge processing and documentation.

Required :

• High School diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of experience as a medical coder in a hospital or physician's office, interacting with physicians.
• 2+ years of experience as a specialty coder in Interventional Radiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, or Oncology Chemotherapy Infusion
• Expert knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• CPC, CCS, or equivalent certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Must be highly experienced in Epic charge submission

Preferred :

• Epic software experience is highly desired.
• Specialty coding certification.
• CIRCC specialty certification is highly desired.
