Due to growth, we are seeking a highly skilled General Surgery Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in abstracting surgical cases for colon resections, rectal procedures, fistulas, small bowel resections, and general surgery coding. This is a Coder II role that requires strong E/M coding experience and an in-depth understanding of anatomy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately abstract and code general surgery cases, including colonoscopies, EGDs, bowel resections, mastectomies, and debridements.
• Apply a solid understanding of E/M guidelines and coding principles.
• Prioritize spine, neurosurgery, and gastroenterology cases, with consideration given to strong orthopedic coding experience.
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations to maintain high-quality standards.
• Utilize EPIC EMR software for coding assignments.
• Successfully complete the general surgery coding assessment as part of the hiring process.

Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of general surgery, gastroenterology, and E/M coding.
• Experience coding spine, neurosurgery, and orthopedic cases is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and compliance regulations.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining productivity and accuracy.

Schedule & Flexibility:

• Initial 90-day commitment to a structured schedule (9AM - 3PM MST).

After 90 days, eligible for flexible schedule options, including 4x10 workweeks (subject to performance and compliance)
