• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and campus policies.
• Respond to incidents, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional manner and escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of campus buildings, spaces, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for unusual conditions, report maintenance or security concerns, and document observations and patrols.
• Assist with access control, visitor directions, and campus events while maintaining a professional presence.

As an Unarmed Medical Center Security Officer - Enhanced Part Time in University City, Philadelphia, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you. This position will involve conducting foot patrols and screening visitors as they enter the building.

Pay Rate: $17.60 / Hour

Job Schedule

• Sun 05:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, campus‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, escalating notifications according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence‑adjacent spaces, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for unusual conditions, report maintenance or security‑related concerns, and document observations, incidents, and patrol activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Assist with access control, visitor directions, campus events, and other assigned duties while maintaining a professional presence in a dynamic educational environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• X‑ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
