Job summary

Allied Universal® in University City, Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time to provide friendly customer service and patrol an outdoor campus site.

This role offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up more hours via our scheduling platform, helping you earn more while gaining security experience.

CPR and First Aid are preferred; a background check and drug screen are required, and a high school diploma or equivalent is expected.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, residents, and community members while carrying out site‑specific procedures and security‑related protocols at a public‑sector location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, sidewalks, parking areas, and perimeter areas, reporting unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and potential hazards.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and notification procedures.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the assigned area, helping to deter unauthorized access and inappropriate conduct.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and daily activity logs, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and designated site contacts.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time in University City, Philadelphia, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you. This role will involve providing customer service and patrolling outdoors in the University City neighborhood.

Pay Rate:

$17.25 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed: 10:00 AM - 06:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
