Job summary

LMHS is seeking a Physician Center Clerk (PCC) at the Center For Sight in Newark, OH to provide clerical support to the patient care team. You will handle phones, mail, demographics at check-in, appointment scheduling in IDX, and referral coordination.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, strong customer service, the ability to operate office equipment, and basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Read, write, and follow verbal instructions.
• Ability to operate various office machines including a PC, fax, copier.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Basic insurance knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers phone and enters phone notes.
• Opens and distributes incoming mail and faxes.
• Update all demographic information at check-in.
• Scan test results into electronic medical record.
• Schedules patient appointments in IDX.
• Collect co-payments and outstanding balances.
• Coordinate referral process.
• Prepares mailings identified by manager or physician.
• Responsible for end of day duties to include appointment reconciliation and cash accounting.
