This position is located within the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Veterans Transportation Services (VTS), Ambulance Service, VA Medical Center (VAMC) locations with an emergency room, acute or urgent care clinic, or other similar departments performing basic and advanced life support procedures in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following:
ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. You must be proficient in basic written and spoken English to perform the duties of this position.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR (SCREEN-OUT): Four Selective Placement Factors (SPF) have been identified for this position. Applicants must meet these minimum requirements:
At GS-09 grade level, you must also meet one of the following:
At least one (1) full year of specialized experience at GS-08 level or equivalent, directly related to the work of the position, including knowledge of body systems, emergency response, patient transportation, communication with dispatchers and healthcare providers, knowledge of emergency care protocols, and operation of emergency or patient transport vehicles.
Experience must be supported by your resume, including job title, duties, start/end dates, and hours worked per week.
Substitution of Education for Experience: Two years of graduate education or a master's degree directly related to the position.
Combination of Education and Experience: Equivalent combinations of graduate education and experience.
Important: A full year of work is 35-40 hours/week. All experience must include start/end dates. Volunteer experience is also credited.
Involves heavy lifting, bending, and positioning of patients, often under adverse conditions. May require prolonged use of protective gear and exposure to infectious diseases or unstable patients.
