Job summary

Sunbelt Healthcare is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist in the Tucson area to support insurance follow-up, payment posting review, and denial resolution. The role requires collaboration with coders on appeals and claim corrections, with duties that may include patient communications and records submission.

Starting pay is competitive at $16/hour with options for in-office, hybrid, or remote work after training; benefits include health plans, 401(k), and PTO from day one.

Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of ICD-10/HCPCS.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google-based webpages.
• A/R follow-up experience preferred.
• Collections experience preferred.
• Physical Therapy Claims experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task with keen attention to detail.
• Minimum of 2+ years of medical billing experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle insurance follow-up and review payment posting and denials.
• Collaborate with coders to write appeals and correct claims.
• May communicate with patients, submit records, and review benefits.
• Possibly perform charge entry and written appeals as needed.
• Complete assigned projects within management-set timeframes.
