Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a motivated billing support professional to assist the Shared Business Office and Patient Financial Services. You will assemble pre-billing files, retrieve billing documents, and handle routine inquiries while using on-line systems to verify authorizations.

The role includes basic reception duties and processing payments in a fast-paced clinical environment. The incumbent will perform general accounting tasks, maintain patient accounts, and support billing operations

• Familiar with computer basics.
• Effective data and numerical data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble pre-billing files and organize patient billing documents.
• Sort, locate and retrieve billing documents and patient account files.
• Assist with routine telephone inquiries from patients or staff.
• Utilize on-line systems to verify authorizations.
• Prepare patient payment files and maintain supporting records.
• Perform routine patient accounting functions and data entry into the system.
• May perform front desk reception duties and record cash and check payments as needed.
