Job summary

Lumibility in Westbrook, CT is seeking a Billing and Claims Specialist to support the Children & Family Services division. The role focuses on accurate medical billing, insurance reimbursement, data entry, and reconciliation within a hybrid, 40-hour workweek.

You will collaborate with state databases, process corrections, and maintain compliant procedures while delivering reliable, compassionate service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Must possess a valid Connecticut driver’s license and own vehicle for Lumibility business.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Experience with medical billing, insurance reimbursement and reconciliation, preferably in a clinical/medical environment.
• ICD/10 and CPT coding experience required.
• Knowledge of insurance/Medicaid practices required.
• Ability to recognize discrepancies in billing data and investigate the issue to determine resolution.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and phone interactions.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Internet access, a cell phone, private workspace, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Input employee and independent contractor billing information into state database accurately.
• Initiate internal billing corrections and voids process according to procedure.
• Run reconciliation reports to identify billing errors and follow up to correct them.
• Enter client data from eligibility documents into state database.
• Review and identify errors and take corrective action.
• Collaborate with billing company on claims, denials, and reimbursements.
• Maintain procedures related to Billing & Claims position with training updates.
• Enter insurance information in state database and verify data.
• Participate in state led Community of Practice meetings and subcommittees.
• Perform other duties as requested and provide interpretation if bilingual.
