Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join their client’s dedicated team in Atwater. This role involves ensuring accurate and efficient processing of medical billing, while providing excellent customer service to patients and insurance payers. The Medical Biller will be responsible for resolving account balances, identifying trends in payment denials, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize billing processes.

Responsibilities

• Research and follow up on all insurance balance accounts to resolve accounts to a zero balance while providing compliant customer service.
• Review reports to determine the proper course of action for account balance resolution, including calling insurances, verifying eligibility and benefits, and reviewing EOBs/RAs.
• Analyze explanation of benefits, including patient statements, as part of account resolution.
• Identify trends and root causes in denial of payments and recommend solutions to the supervisor.
• Demonstrate knowledge of reimbursement practices by commercial insurance payers.
• Understand contractual allowances, capitation reimbursement, administrative adjustments, and basic medical terms.
• Maintain strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Perform basic mathematical computations and succinctly describe the analysis performed.
• Work cooperatively with others, including appropriate communication with patients, providers, support staff, and administration.

Qualifications

• Medical insurance and/or medical collections experience.
• Ability to analyze, audit, and reconcile accounts.
• Knowledgeable in all aspects of insurance reimbursement.
• Knowledge of government, commercial, worker’s comp, and managed care reimbursement guidelines.
• Familiarity with all federal, state, and local legal aspects of collection activities.
• Outstanding listening, communication, problem-solving, and research skills.
• Working experience in Office 365 business tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
• Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task routinely.
• HIPAA knowledge.
• Certifications required in Medical Billing.
