Job Description

The Medical Billing Specialist will support various aspects of the revenue cycle process including insurance follow‑up, denial resolution, payment posting, patient account review, and billing support. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, metrics‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify patient demographics and insurance information for accurate claim processing
• Research and resolve denied, rejected, or unpaid claims and submit corrected claims as needed
• Interpret EOBs and remittance advice to determine appropriate account actions and adjustments
• Communicate with insurance companies, providers, and patients regarding billing questions and account discrepancies
• Utilize payer portals and internal systems to manage claim follow‑up activities
• Maintain detailed and accurate account documentation
• Meet productivity and quality expectations within a team‑oriented environment
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and company compliance procedures
• Navigate multiple systems, EMRs, and process documentation efficiently

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle experience
• Familiarity with EOBs, claim follow‑up, denials, and insurance billing processes
• Experience working in productivity‑focused or metrics‑driven environments preferred
• Strong technical skills with the ability to learn and navigate multiple systems quickly
• Experience with EMR platforms such as EPIC is highly preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable communicating professionally with providers, patients, and insurance representatives
• High school diploma or equivalent required
