Addison Group in North Chicago, IL is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to support the full billing cycle, including claim preparation, denial follow-up, and patient communication.

We are looking for a candidate with prior medical billing experience; certification is preferred but not required. The role offers a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote) after a training period and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous medical billing experience.
• Medical Billing and Coding certification is preferred but not required.
• Experience with Podiatry, Physical Therapy, Behavioral Health, or OB/GYN billing is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of insurance claims, denials, and reimbursement processes.
• Candidates should live within approximately 30 minutes of the North Chicago office.

Responsabilités

• Review patient accounts and insurance information to ensure claims are accurate and ready for submission.
• Prepare and process medical claims while identifying missing or incorrect information.
• Communicate with providers and internal departments to obtain documentation needed to complete or correct claims.
• Investigate denied and rejected claims and determine appropriate next steps for resolution.
• Make necessary claim updates, corrections, and follow-up to help ensure timely reimbursement.
• Respond to patient calls and assist with questions related to billing, claims, and account balances.
• Maintain accurate billing records and documentation.
• Follow established billing procedures and payer requirements.

Pay: $18 – $25 / hour, based on experience.

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7.5 hour workday with a 30 - minute unpaid lunch. Flexible start time between 8:00 – 9:00 AM. Hybrid schedule of 3 days in office and 2 days remote after approximately one month of training.
