Job summary

Paw Paw Public School District is seeking a paraprofessional to provide academic and behavioral support to students throughout the school day in strict accordance with their IEP. You will assist students in developing social, emotional, and academic skills, implement instructional strategies with teachers and the Special Education team, and help maintain student dignity and confidentiality.

The position runs school days 8:20 a.m.–4:05 p.m., starting at $18.01/hour under the PPESPA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Associate Degree required or equivalent.
• Completed ETS Parapro Assessment with a passing score of 460 or higher.
• CPI Certification preferred.
• CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and behavioral support to the assigned student throughout the school day in strict accordance with their IEP.
• Assist students in acquiring the social, emotional, and academic skills necessary to thrive within the general education setting.
• Mitigate behavioral escalations through strategic planning, environmental organization, and consistent professional habits.
• Maintain the highest standards of student dignity and strict confidentiality regarding medical and educational records.
• Work in close coordination with classroom teachers and the Special Education team to ensure instructional and behavioral strategies are implemented consistently.
• Maintain professional rapport with families, providing necessary feedback communication to ensure a cohesive home-to-school support system.

Education

• Salary/Benefits: Starting at $18.01/hour; per the PPESPA Agreement under the paraprofessional classification
