Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Hartford Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide basic clinical and clerical support within the Medical Assistant scope of education. The role includes ongoing training and exposure to EPIC EMR in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Qualifications emphasize a diploma, CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic or related experience, BLS within 90 days, strong communication, customer service, HIPAA compliance, and teamwork. Location is 80 Seymour St HH Conklin.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• An active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic certification OR related experience is a plus.
• At least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory).
• CPR/BLS certification within 3 months of hire date.
• Must communicate effectively in English.
• HIPAA compliance and patient privacy.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic clinical and clerical support in patient care within the Medical Assistant scope.
• Participate in training and ongoing education for Medical Assistant duties.
• Read and understand instructions, communicate information clearly in English.
• Support unit with efficient patient flow and documentation in the EMR.
