Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking Medical Assistants for our BIDHC team, offering Monday through Friday day shifts with no weekends or holidays. You will provide high-quality patient care in a team-based setting, support administrative and clinical operations, and work within an EHR to manage renewals, medications, and test orders.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, MA/CNA/EMT/phlebotomy certs preferred, and 0–1 year of related experience with basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s in Health Science preferred.
• MA certification/registration or CNA/EMT/phlebotomy cert preferred.
• 0–1 year related experience; MA competencies within one year of hire.
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based applications.

Responsabilités

• Develops long-term empathetic relationships with patients, families and colleagues to contribute to patient care.
• Assists patient over the course of their visit, informs patient and provider of delays, updates lists, and supports flow and service delivery.
• Communicates clearly with patient and team; hands off to provider entering the exam room.
• Performs medical assisting duties under supervision: vitals, EKGs, point of care testing, phlebotomy, immunizations (certified MAs), and routine procedures.
• Leads conversations to meet population health goals through outreach and health coaching; assists with data gathering.
• Maintains medical equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness, sterility, stock and expiration dates.
• Uses EHR to queue renewals, add medications, and document tasks for billing.
• Schedules diagnostic and lab tests, verifies insurance, prior authorizations, referrals and pre-certifications.
• Identifies OSHA compliance issues and reports adverse events; protects PHI and patient safety.
