Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support safe, high-quality care across ambulatory settings. Under supervision, you will perform direct patient care, assist with clinical operations and care coordination, and help maintain efficient daily workflows.

Responsibilities include greeting and preparing patients, performing vital signs, assisting with EKGs and specimens, and ensuring proper EMR documentation. A high school diploma and MA training are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program preferred.
• 0-1 years of related patient-care experience preferred or an associate's degree or higher in lieu.

Responsibilities

• Greet, room, and prepare patients for visits; take and document vital signs and intake information.
• Support clinical procedures (e.g., EKGs, specimen collection, point-of-care testing).
• Maintain clean, stocked, and ready exam rooms throughout the day.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the EMR per clinical guidelines.
• May assist with scheduling, check-in, referrals, and patient instructions as needed.
• Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and team members about delays and follow-ups.
