Job summary

CLS Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for our multispecialty practice in Houston, TX. You will support patient care, room patients, take vitals, update medical histories, and assist physicians in the exam room.

The ideal candidate is bilingual in Spanish and English, with excellent communication and multitasking abilities, and comfort with medical terminology and insurance processes. This is a full-time on-site role offering comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rooming the patient.
• Interview/update patient’s chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.
• Prepares patient charts a week in advance and verifies benefits reports.
• Prepares patient charts a week in advance.
• Scanning documents to appropriate patient charts.
• Ensures that rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day.
• Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain pre-authorization/determination for medications.
• Ensures that physician is in-network and authorized/up-to-date referral is in the patient's chart.
• Assist the physician in the exam room with any wound care and/or procedures.
• Follow up on calls/voicemails and document phone log/conversation
• Educates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered.
• Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient.
• Obtains authorization prior to sending any orders when needed.
• Main fax line– Distribute faxes to appropriate team member(s)
• Performs related duties as required.

We Are Looking For
