Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care, in partnership with UCSF Health, seeks a Medical Assistant to support urgent care operations in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will assist with patient intake, vital signs, specimen collection, and prepare exam rooms under the direction of a provider.

The role requires a High School Diploma and MA program graduate; BLS certification and MA credentialing eligibility within 15 months are required. This on-site position includes incentive pay based on performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• MA certifications accepted: CCMA/CMA/RMA/NCMA/NRCMA or equivalents; in CA, MA schooling plus internal training acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist during patient exams.
• Perform point-of-care testing and vital signs.
• Maintain supplies and complete records and charts.
