Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Zeeland Medical Office Building to join the Urgent Care Admin team. You will work closely with physicians and nurses to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced setting.

This part-time position supports diverse patient needs, with shifts in the day hours and variable days. The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, MA training or clinical experience, BLS certification within 90 days, and MA certification within 120 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or 1 year MA/EMT/LPN experience in direct patient care required.
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
• AHA/ARC BLS certification required within 90 days of start.
• One of CMA/CCMA/NCMA/NCMA/NHA/NAHP MA certifications required within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care and clinical support under supervision.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure delivery of quality care.
• Support urgent care operations and patient flow in a fast-paced environment.

Education

Scope of work

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
• One of the following Required within 120 Days
  • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
  • NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA
