Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a medical assistant training program preferred.
• Experience in a clinical setting required.
• Certification not required; plan to sit for certification within first year; BLS/CPR AED certification with renewal grace period.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with routine patient examinations and procedures.
• Prepare examination rooms by cleaning and restocking supplies.
• Record vital signs and medical histories.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow.
• Assist with prescriptions, maintain medication log, and cross-cover with other departments.
• Provide basic medication instructions and follow-up care.
• Perform phlebotomy and CLIA-waived testing; observe urine collection.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations.
• Ensure clinic safety and assist mobility as needed.
• Manage inventory and order supplies.
• Facilitate communication between patients and providers; obtain prior authorizations.
