Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Diploma from Medical Assistant Program is required or preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year medical assisting experience.
• Military Medic or EMT-P training counts.
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, BP, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures; assist with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations and carry out treatments and tests.
• Set up equipment and treatment rooms; prepare specimens for lab tests.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant Program diploma

1 year medical assisting experience

Military Medic training

EMT-P (Paramedic) training

1 year combined experience+education
