Job summary

Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY is seeking a Medical Assistant Trainee to join a full-time program designed to progress to a Medical Assistant role. The program combines classroom and clinical training with a schedule of Monday - Friday, 8a-4:30p.

Classroom training occurs at 1001 Breckenridge Ln, Louisville, KY 40207 while clinical training takes place at various locations in Louisville and Southern Indiana. Upon successful completion, you’ll transition into a full-time MA position.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assistant program (or 1 year as a Medical Assistant).
• High School Diploma required for Medical Assistant Trainee.
• Willingness to participate in comprehensive on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Take patients to rooms and greet them.
• Obtain vital signs and schedule appointments.
• Assist with medical procedures and perform phlebotomy.
• Answer phones and handle clerical tasks.
• Maintain EMR and assist with billing and coding.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as directed.
• Complete FMLA paperwork and ensure safety/infection control.
