Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is offering a Medical Assistant training program designed for individuals with little to no clinical experience. Trainees will travel to West Penn Nursing School or AHN Suburban in Bellevue two days per week for hands-on training and work the other three days at a physician's office.

Participants will sit for the certification exam after completion and work 40 hours per week, with compensation starting at $18.00 per hour and increasing to $19.26 per hour upon

Qualifications

High School or GED required.
Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 background clearances required.

Responsibilities

Assist in coordination of patient care using a team-based approach under the supervision of the health care provider.
Prepare and room patients within the clinic practice setting, obtain vital signs/history, and assist in screening tools.
Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
Provide follow-up with patients via preferred communication method per provider instructions.
Prepare exam rooms and ensure adequate inventory of medical supplies.
Accurately perform lab controls and equipment checks.
Document accurately in the electronic health record.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
