Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is offering a Medical Assistant training program designed for individuals with little to no clinical experience and no formal training. The program requires travel 2 days a week to West Penn Nursing School or AHN Suburban in Bellevue for hands-on training, with the remaining three days in a physician office to practice skills.

After completion, you must sit for the Certification Exam and then work 40 hours per week in the assigned office.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required; background checks as part of compliance.
• Act 34, Act 33, Act 73, FBI fingerprint clearances required.
• BLS certification preferred; prior patient care experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients and record vital signs and history.
• Assist providers with exams and procedures.
• Document in the electronic health record and maintain workflow in the clinic.
