Job summary

Norton Healthcare, Inc. is hiring Medical Assistants and Trainee Medical Assistants in Louisville, KY. The program offers classroom and clinical training with full-time hours, Monday–Friday, 8a–4:30p, leading to a full-time Medical Assistant role.

The position involves administrative and clinical duties under supervision, patient care support, and collaboration with physicians and staff to ensure care plans are followed. Training occurs at multiple locations in Louisville and Southern Indiana.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assistant program or one year as a Medical Assistant.
• High school diploma required for Medical Assistant Trainee; no experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care and serve as a liaison between physician and patient.
• Take patients to rooms and obtain vital signs.
• Assist with medical procedures and perform phlebotomy.
• Obtain lab specimens and maintain EMR accuracy.
• Calculate and administer medications and vaccinations.
• Greet patients, schedule appointments, answer phones, and perform clerical tasks.
• Process prior authorizations, billing and coding, and relevant admin duties.
