Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assistant program (or one year as a Medical Assistant).
• High school diploma required for trainee; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Taking patients to rooms.
• Obtaining vital signs.
• Assisting with medical procedures.
• Performing phlebotomy.
• Obtaining lab specimens.
• Maintaining electronic medical records (EMR).
• Calculating & administering medications & vaccinations.
• Greeting patients and answering phones.
• Scheduling appointments and clerical work.
• Handling prior authorizations and billing/coding.
