The Telehealth Care Specialist is a multifaceted role. This role will be responsible for handling medical front office tasks, providing medical assistance, and offering minor technical support in a telehealth setting. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the seamless delivery of healthcare services through telemedicine while maintaining a high level of patient care and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential is required.
- Strong commitment to patient care and confidentiality.

- Current Valid BLS Certification.
Work Experience
- Prior experience in a medical front office or telehealth setting is preferred.

Examples of Duties
- Assist patients in scheduling telehealth appointments and resolving any scheduling conflicts.
- Facilitate patient check-ins, registration, verify insurance information, collecting patient financials (copays).
- Conduct preliminary patient intake assessments, including measuring vital signs and documenting patient history, and all other aspects within the scope of a Certified Medical Assistant.
- Provide clear and accurate instructions to patients on using telehealth technology.
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues during telehealth sessions.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure a seamless telehealth experience.
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) and update patient information as needed.
- Assist with billing and insurance claims processing.
- Ensure compliance with telehealth regulations and privacy standards.
- Continuously improve telehealth processes and workflows.
- Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments, and in-person follow-up appointments.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in the training and professional development of staff.
- Collaborate with the team to implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide support during telehealth emergencies or technical difficulties.
- Adhere to established telehealth workflows for the project that are consistent with organizational standards. Recommend modifications as you identify potential areas for improvement.
- Perform related work as required.
Travel Requirements
Occasionally may travel to other sites to attend meetings or training, occasionally overnight for training.
