Telemedicine Virtual Medical Office Assistant

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Provide initial intake information to prepare for a telehealth visit with a clinician, supporting assessment, promotion, maintenance, and restoration of patient health and wellness.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Greet patients professionally and warmly via video telemedicine.
• Verify if the patient has accessed the service through proper channels.
• Escalate clinical or triage questions to the Telemedicine MA or RN.
• Document intake information accurately, including medical history, medications, allergies, and pharmacy details.
• Transfer eligible patients to a clinician or assist in scheduling with their primary care provider if not eligible.
• Maintain accurate documentation within all systems (XPM, CRM, EHR).
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA by properly handling patient information.
• Schedule appointments based on clinical priorities and scheduling policies.
• Communicate effectively with other offices as needed.
• Meet performance standards and participate in training sessions.
• Perform additional duties such as outbound calls, copying, and faxing as required.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Language: Proficiency in English and Spanish.

Experience: Prior customer service experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong verbal communication skills.
