Job summary

Columbus Oncology Associates is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant Team Lead for a Monday through Friday schedule, 8-hour shifts, with business hours from 7:30 am to 5 pm. No weekends or evenings, and paid time off for holidays.

The role involves leading the MA team, staffing coordination, onboarding, and ensuring efficient clinical workflows with EMR systems. CMA certification and BLS are required; experience in oncology and high-volume settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited CMA program; CMA certification required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of outpatient/ambulatory healthcare.
• Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
• Oncology and high-volume environment experience preferred.
• Current CMA certification required.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support the Medical Assistant team and MA Preceptors.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, daily assignments, and coverage needs.
• Support onboarding, training, competency validation, and staff development.
• Oversee daily clinical workflows, ensuring efficient patient flow, documentation, and EMR processes.
• Troubleshoot operational challenges and collaborate with leadership to improve workflows and continuity of care.
• Lead team huddles and communicate departmental priorities, updates, and staffing needs.
• Participate in quality assurance, chart audits, performance improvement, and implementation of new processes and technology.
• Provide hands‑on clinical support as needed, maintaining active CMA certification.
• Promote compassionate, patient-centered oncology care and excellent customer service.
• Foster collaboration among MAs, providers, nursing, scheduling, and ancillary departments.
