Job summary

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers is hiring a Medical Assistant to join our oncology team in Surprise, AZ. You will prepare exam rooms, assist with patient intake, and manage EMR and referrals in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of MA experience, CMA or equivalent certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days), and strong communication with a team-oriented attitude. Some travel to other Ironwood locations is required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years MA experience in a fast-paced setting.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is required or able to obtain within 90 days.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Compassionate, team-oriented, and adaptable. EMR experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and sanitize exam rooms before and between patients.
• Room patients and record vital signs and assessments.
• Manage patient charts and electronic medical records (EMR).
• Handle phone calls, referrals, and patient result notifications.
• Set up orders for transfusions, hospital admissions, phlebotomy, and more.
• Monitor prescription folders and assist with drug replacement programs.
• Coordinate special testing and physician requests.
