Job summary

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers is seeking a Medical Assistant (Flex) to join the Mesa oncology team. This full-time role requires rotation across clinics, preparation of exam rooms, rooming patients, and managing EMR with strong communication and organizational skills.

Travel between Ironwood offices is expected, with weekday shifts varying in start times to meet patient needs. The ideal candidate will hold CMA/RMA certification or have the ability to obtain within 90 days, plus 1–2 years of

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) with valid certification or the ability to obtain within 90 days.
• 1-2 years of MA experience in a fast-paced setting.
• EMR experience and computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Travel between offices – reliable transportation required.
• Rotate across multiple clinics, physicians and/or departments.
• Prepare and sanitize exam rooms before and between patients.
• Room patients and record vital signs and assessments.
• Manage patient charts and electronic medical records (EMR).
• Handle phone calls, referrals, and patient result notifications.
• Set up orders for transfusions, hospital admissions, phlebotomy, and more.
• Monitor prescription folders and assist with drug replacement programs.
• Coordinate special testing and physician requests.
• Start and end times may vary based on need of scheduled office.
• Extensive administration support functions.

What We’re Looking For:
