Job summary

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Gynecologic Oncology team. The role supports pre- and post-operative care for gynecology patients and requires CMA/RMA certification or the ability to obtain within 90 days.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years MA experience in a fast-paced setting, EMR proficiency, and strong communication in a compassionate, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) or equivalent with active status or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Experience in surgical or women’s health settings is highly preferred.
• 1-2 years of medical assistant experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills.
• Proficient in EMR and general computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pre- and post-operative care for gynecology patients.
• Prepare exam rooms and surgical instruments.
• Maintain supplies and equipment for treatments with emphasis on sterile technique.
• Support minor in-office procedures and wound care; specimen collection.
• Coordinate patient education and follow-up appointments.
• Maintain accurate medical records and process referrals.
• Handle chart prep, scheduling, data entry, phone calls, and patient registration.

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers:

• Beautiful state-of-the-art integrated Cancer and Women's Centers
• Location: Gilbert, Arizona - travel to other locations required

What You’ll Do:

• Assist in pre- and post-operative care for gynecology patients
• Prepare exam rooms and surgical instruments
• Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, strong understanding of sterile techniques. Must possess excellent sterile technique.
• Support minor in-office procedures and wound care; specimen collection
• Coordinate patient education and follow-up appointments
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation; process referrals as needed
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned including chart prep, scheduling, data entry, phone calls, and patient registration

What We’re Looking For:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)- **Only candidates who currently hold a valid Medical Assistant certification or the ability to obtain w/in 90 days will be considered***
• Experience in surgical or women’s health settings highly preferred
• 1-2 years of MA experience in a fast-paced setting
