Job summary

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in Scottsdale seeks an experienced Medical Assistant to support oncology clinics. You will prepare exam rooms, record vitals, manage EMR, coordinate referrals, and assist with tests.

Must have CMA/RMA or equivalent, 1–2 years MA experience, strong communication, team spirit and adaptability; willing to travel to other Ironwood locations.

• 1–2 years of MA experience in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and sanitize exam rooms before and between patients.
• Room patients and record vital signs and assessments.
• Manage patient charts and EMR.
• Handle calls, referrals and patient result notifications; set up orders for transfusions and admissions.
• Monitor prescription folders and assist with drug replacement programs.
• Coordinate special testing and physician requests.

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers:

• Location: Scottsdale, Arizona -travel to other locations required

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare and sanitize exam rooms before and between patients
• Room patients and record vital signs and assessments
• Manage patient charts and electronic medical records (EMR)
• Handle phone calls, referrals, and patient result notificationsSet up orders for transfusions, hospital admissions, phlebotomy, and more
• Monitor prescription folders and assist with drug replacement programs
• Coordinate special testing and physician requests

What We’re Looking For:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)- **Only candidates who currently hold a valid Medical Assistant certification or the ability to obtain w/in 90 days will be considered***
• 1-2 years of MA experience in a fast-paced setting
• Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills
• Compassionate, team-oriented, and adaptable personality
• EMR experience and computer proficiency a plus
• Positive, professional attitude with a team-first mindset and a passion for oncology care
