Job summary

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in Glendale, AZ is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our oncology team. This full-time role supports patient care, ensures accurate charting, and coordinates testing and procedures in a fast-paced cancer care setting.

Requirements include a CMA/RMA or equivalent certification (able to obtain within 90 days) and 1–2 years MA experience. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to provide compassionate, detail-oriented patient service.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant with CMA, RMA, or equivalent status and able to obtain within 90 days.
• 1–2 years of MA experience in a fast-paced clinical setting.
• Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills.
• EMR experience and general computer proficiency preferred.
• Positive, professional attitude with a team-first mindset and oncology care interest.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and sanitize exam rooms before and between patients.
• Room patients and record vital signs and assessments.
• Manage patient charts and EMR.
• Handle phone calls, referrals and result notifications.
• Set up orders for transfusions, hospital admissions, phlebotomy and more.
• Monitor prescription folders and assist with drug replacement programs.
• Coordinate special testing and physician requests.
