Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join the Orthopedics team in Brunswick, ME. This full-time role supports busy clinics with rooming patients, taking vitals, and assisting with exams and procedures.

Eligible candidates receive sign-on bonuses: $4,000 for 0-1 year experience and $5,000 for 1+ year experience for full-time positions. BLS required; prior MA experience preferred where noted. Excellent benefits and a day schedule are offered.

Join our dedicated Orthopedics team in beautiful Brunswick, Maine! We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant (MA) to support our busy practice and deliver exceptional patient care.

What You’ll Do:
  • Room patients, take vitals, and assist with exams and procedures
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical equipment
  • Support providers with documentation, orders, and patient flow
  • Provide patient education and follow-up instructions
  • Collaborate closely with a supportive clinical and administrative team
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
  2. License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement). Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
  3. Experience: Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.

The pay range for this position is $21.09to $27.12 per hour.
